Hi, I'm Kamela! I'm an INFP-A, enneagram type 7, lover of crystals, cats, tarot readings, supernovas, matcha lattes & a journaling.
Do we have anything in common?
Hello there beautiful human!
I'm Kamela - A Houstonian living in the Pacific Northwest. I'm a holistic health & self love coach, personal trainer, and podcast host for The Mindfully Lifted Project.
I began my active lifestyle at 3 years old in a small local dance studio. Eventually, I went on to become an award-winning dancer over the next 15 years acquiring formal training in Ballet and many other various styles of dance. (To this day you'll always find me moving to a good beat) It was only the beginning of discovering my love of movement.
Dabbling in American soccer, volleyball, and martial arts as an adolescent, I'm no stranger to enjoying many different disciplines and endorse staying active through any physical activity you enjoy.
My true passion lies in helping humans lead holistically healthy lives, uncover conscious self-love, and find their soul purpose. I also enjoy sharing my personal journey to wellbeing on the internet in hopes of inspiring wellness, growth, and awakening.
Today, I'm calling the beautiful evergreen lined city of Seattle home. My vibrant way (mental and physical health) is owed to incorporating a healthy yet non-restrictive diet, daily fresh pacific northwest air, weight training, pilates, yoga, writing, and meditating.
When I'm not working with clients in-person or virtually all over the world, you can find me at a local coffee shop sipping a matcha latte writing, in a forest hiking the beautiful Washington mountains, or exploring the museums and culinary tastes of Seattle.
What called me to become a health & wellness coach?
Recovering from a serious battle with depression, body dysmorphia and an eating disorder are truly where my heart in this line of work comes from. Utilizing movement, going to therapy, nourishment, journaling, and meditation is largely what I accredit to overcoming some of my darkest days.
After recovery, I sought a career in the fitness industry to aid in helping others realize their own potential by teaching how much impact the mind-body connection can truly make in one's life. I have instilled this mantra in all my clients working as a Personal Trainer, Barre /Reformer Pilates Instructor, and now as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach blending my knowledge into a complete whole human practice. It is truly my mission to help humans discover their own love for themselves through mindful movement, holistic practices, and healing.
(Credentials include Certified Holistic Health Coach via the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, Personal Training Certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, studying as a Functional Training Specialist through the American Council of Exercise, Reformer Pilates Fitness Instruction, Pure Barre Instructor Certification, and finally formerly an NPC Bikini Competitor.)
"Recovering from a serious battle with depression, body dysmorphia and an eating disorder is truly where my heart in this line of work comes from... I aim to help you feel empowered through your own unique journey to a vibrant and healthy life."
The path to truly living a vibrant and healthy life is so much more than looking a certain way, it is an amazing way to foster growth and self-improvement physically, mentally, and spiritually.
I believe health is a human right regardless of ethnicity, socioeconomic background, sex, sexual orientation, religion, etc.
In my practice, I provide a safe, non-judgmental, and welcoming space for all humans seeking a healthier and whole life. I look at the complete picture, examining needs in your life like your mental health, relationships, career, rest, social life along with your physical activity and nutrition- components that highly contribute to lasting behavior change that often gets overlooked. I aim to help you feel empowered through your own unique journey as I guide you building an inside and outside you love.
